Job Objectives: To teach courses in Computer and Information Science, including applications operating systems, networking, and other courses.
Essential Job Functions:
A. Develop, teach, and update courses in Computer and Information Science.
B. Prepare course syllabi and course materials, evaluate student learning, and maintain class records.
C. Participate in curriculum development, budget planning, student recruitment, student advisement, placement, departmental meetings, and college committees.
D. Perform related duties as required.
A. Minimum of a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Science, or closely related area.
B. Understanding and acceptance of the comprehensive community college philosophy.
A. Teaching experience in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.
B. Experience with computer systems at the community college level or above preferred.
C. Knowledge of and experience with online course delivery preferred.
D. Knowledge of and ability to install and configure routers, switches, and related networking equipment preferred.
E. Work experience in computer field in systems operations, computer applications, or related area preferred.
The primary job location is the college’s campus in Sevierville, TN. Travel within the college’s ten-county service area will be required.
Use of computer equipment, multimedia equipment, wireless and mobile equipment, and networking equipment.
Teaching competence in computer and information technology, competency in PC and Mac computer systems, ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, and staff, operation of standard office and classroom equipment.
