Daily supervises Food and Nutrition services employees in the production of food for patient, staff and visitors. Maintains discipline through enforcement of all hospital and department rules and regulations. Assists with tasks in cafeteria such as serving food, stocking of food and nonfood items. Checks and records food temperatures on tray line and cafeteria retail serving line, all coolers and freezers in department. Supervises patient tray line. Responsible for checking cash drawers in Cafeteria and accounting for retail cash receipts.
Education and/or experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Managers ServSave Certification or equivalent required within 3 months of employment. Three – five years basic management experience in hospital or similar setting is required.
Knowledge: Knowledge and practice of rules for commercial food service cleaning and sanitation practices required. Working knowledge of food service rules and diets required.
Skills: Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Abilities: Ability to make decisions daily and meet time line for trayline service for patient foods and cafeteria serving line. Must work well with others and regular attendance is expected.
