Under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, provides leadership and oversight of inpatient nursing practice and operations. Plans, organizes, and directs the delivery of nursing services throughout the hospital. Collaborates with other leaders to ensure the delivery of patient centered, efficient and coordinated care. Develops clinical policy, evaluates clinical data and outcomes measures. Participates with leaders from the governing body, management, medical staff and clinical areas regarding the hospitals decision making structures.
Education and/or experience: Current RN license, Master’s degree in nursing, business, or healthcare administration required. Minimum 5 years management experience in healthcare field preferred.
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards, including safety and infection control practices. Knowledge of healthcare industry, surgical areas, management and leadership.
Skills: Excellent written and oral communication and work well with others in a team environment. Requires critical thinking/reasoning while intervening during critical and non-critical situations. Must have strong customer service focus. Must have exceptional analytic skills.
Abilities: Demonstrated ability in leadership, management, decision-making and communication. Position requires an ability to think strategically and effectively delegate daily operations to staff.
