The Accountant II will have primary responsibility for accounting transactions and financial reporting related to Blount Memorial Physicians Group and Blount Memorial Foundation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing schedules and assisting in completion of various required reports such as Medicare Cost Report, Tennessee Joint Annual Reports, state and federal tax returns, etc. This position will have the responsibility for federal grant accounting and reporting. The Accountant II will also help manage, track, and report information related to property taxes, sales taxes, and business taxes. Preference will be given to candidate with data mining and SQL data base query experience.
Education and/or experience: Requires a B.S. degree with a major in accounting. Two plus years of professional accounting experience is preferred, and a background with a hospital/healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
Knowledge: Requires knowledge of routine accounting functions to produce financial statements; Knowledge of general healthcare practices, accounting, and operations is preferred.
Skills: Strong analytical/problem solving skills; Excellent communication skills, Superior technology skills, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, ERP experience preferred, expertise in big data analysis, data base query experience and SSRS report building is a big plus, as well as, knowledge of Business Intelligence software. Abilities: Demonstrated high levels of initiative, innovation, and collaboration; Positive attitude and team player a must. Solid customer service skills are critical.
