Applicant must have experience in Managing an adult Behavioral Health
unit that has cared for voluntary and involuntary admissions.
Responsible for the organization, management & direction of an adult behavioral health inpatient unit and multiple levels of associated outpatient treatment programs. The director is also responsible for the clinical and fiscal management of the outpatient counseling. Oversees strategy development, staff management, process design, regulatory compliance and performance monitoring and reporting for both services in conjunction with the Division Head.
Education and/or experience:Master’s degree required in health related field. Five or more year’s clinical & administrative experience in behavioral health field preferred. Obtains professional licensure, within the state of Tennessee. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license. Knowledge:Advanced knowledge in behavioral health clinical practices with experience in behavioral management required, including billing practices, insurance, budgeting and compliance standards for JCAHO. Skills: Requires analytical skills, including the ability to organize/assess information and make recommendations for operational, budgeting, auditing, and forecasting purposes. Requires ability to analyze and resolve problems that affect behavioral health services, regardless of whether the problem originates in an area under direct or indirect control. Requires clear and effective written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills and detail orientation. Must possess proven motivational and negotiating skills. Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Abilities: Able to evaluate the performance of others against criteria stated in their job description. Designs processes and procedures that incorporate service excellence and support customer satisfaction. Develops and communicates strategic goals for behavioral health services and then motivates staff and works effectively with and through diverse groups to accomplish them. Demonstrates strong marketing and public relations abilities. Demonstrates leadership in the organization’s core values and ability to develop team concepts. Maintains flexibility in work hours, including call coverage.
