Actively provides for patient care based upon the professional practice standards and the nursing process. Is actively involved with maintaining the standard of care for assigned patients through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Oversees and guides team members under his or her supervision. Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients during the immediate intraoperative phase of their surgical care.
Education and/or experience: BSN degree is preferred. Prefer 2 years nursing experience. Preferably in the field of Operating Room nursing. Requires current registered nurse licensure in the State of Tennessee. Requires BLS. ACLS and PALS and CNOR preferred.
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of aseptic surgical technique and infection control practice. Knowledg3e of the information and techniques necessary to perform in various surgical specialties. Knowledgeable in Sterile Processing.
Skills: Demonstrated skills to assess, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Require critical thinking/reasoning while intervening during critical and non-critical situations. Must have strong customer service skills.
Abilities: Demonstrated skills in crisis management, decision-making, communication skills and promotion inter-disciplinary cooperation. Able to follow manufacture’s recommendations for processing and care of surgical instruments.
