If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a candidate like you for its Vice President of Communications position in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Under the guidance of Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Communications oversees the Council’s Communications Team and advises the Chief Executive Officer on communications strategy and public relations including the handling of sensitive topics. Assesses communications systems and structures to ensure they benefit GSCSA’s mission, vision and strategy and to strengthen the Girl Scout brand and visibility throughout the Council’s geography. Manages overall marketing content creation; generates content when needed.

- Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, communications or similar field with at least 4 years of related professional experience in public relations, writing, editing, communications project management or a related field. (Significant documented experience in a marketing position and environment may substitute for degree.)
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Experience with Salesforce, Exact Target, and social media platforms (or related programs) preferred but not required at entry.
- Experience as manager, supervisor, team lead, or project manager preferred but not required at entry.
- Maintenance of Girl Scout membership throughout employment. Adult Girl Scout members may be female or male.
