General Description of Major Tasks of Position
The Group Leader is primarily responsible for “sustaining” processes throughout his/her responsible areas. The Group Leader provides communication & ensures synchronization between all of his / her departments and other departments. The Group Leader works through their designated Team Leaders to ensure quality, efficiency, safety and also helps Team Leaders with manning decisions when conflicts arise. The Group Leader is expected to be an example to other team members in the areas of attendance, behavior, safety, quality and productivity (an example - to be free from any and all disciplinary actions). This example is a mandatory requirement of this position. First written warning status, as defined by the “progressive disciplinary policy”, will result in disqualification for this position. The Group Leader is responsible for administering progressive discipline as outlined by the Employee Policy Handbook. This should only be completed after consulting HR and/or the Assembly Supervisor.
The Group Leader position is generally responsible for “1st line supervision” but, in the case of high absenteeism, may be required to fill in for absent Team Leaders. This may also be required in the event of a loss of quality or production that may affect the overall Schedule. This position is also considered a training platform for future advancement possibilities to open Supervisor Positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Communicates daily goals & announcements to Designated Team Leaders
2. Ensures synchronization between departments.
3. Works to ensure scrap reduction and non-conformities reduction. May be responsible for reviewing defects with PI and participates in the investigation to resolve any defects.
4. Ensures all paperwork and QAD is completed on-time.
5. Completes Supervisor appointed paperwork & reports
6. Performs periodic process audits to ensure that work instruction are correct and that the process is being followed correctly.

c. Materials kit audits
d. 5S audits
e. Safety audits
7. Performs daily (specified) procedural quality control
8. Ensures compliance to daily preventative maintenance (PM)
10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Educational and Work Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required with experience of two or more years in a leadership position. Ability to work and speak effectively with personnel at all levels of production and management. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write, required reports and create correspondence.
Working environment is characterized by loud noises and general production conditions in a non air conditioned facility subject to seasonal temperature variations. See attached Physical Demand Sheet for detail.
